Help & Support
We're here for your rides, deliveries, payments and account.
Contact us
Email thezapcompany@zapapp.app. If you're signed in, the fastest way is the help center — open a ticket about a specific Zap, report a problem with an order, or ask Zappy.
In an emergency during a ride, call 911 first, then use the emergency button in your live Zap so your emergency contacts are alerted.
Deleting your account
In the Zap app or on the web, go to Account → Delete my account and type DELETE to confirm. Upcoming and repeat Zaps are cancelled, any pass ends, and you're signed out everywhere. Your account is deactivated straight away and permanently deleted after 90 days — sign in before then to restore it. You can also ask us by email at thezapcompany@zapapp.app.
A Zap Kid or managed account is removed by the guardian or organization that set it up.
Common questions
How does payment work?
Zap Co charges up front. Every Zap needs an authorized card hold (or prepaid pass coverage) before a Zapper is dispatched — scheduled Zaps are authorized up to 24 hours before pickup, and finishing the Zap just captures that hold. There's no pay-per-ride and no convenience fee.
What is the Commute Pass?
The Commute Pass is weekly, paid up front, and renews each week — it saves a flat 25% versus Zap Now pricing, plus a flat $19.99/week pass fee on top ($9.99/week for verified students and Zap Kids). There's no monthly Commute Pass; if you only need a short stretch, the Temporary Commute Pass gives the same 25% off for a set number of legs or days, with a smaller one-time add-on instead of the weekly fee.
What do the monthly Zap Passes cover?
The monthly passes are Zap Gold Pass (all-access), Zap Ride Pass, Zap Meal Pass, Zap Shopping Pass and Zap Postal Pass — each takes 25% off its category. The Zap Gold Pass also includes a ZapMart Members Card, and can be bought Annual ($999/yr) or Lifetime ($3,499 one-time) instead of monthly — those two terms are individual only and can't be shared, unlike the monthly Gold Pass.
What happens if I skip a commute day?
Skip a commute leg more than 25 minutes before pickup — even the same day — and it banks into next week instead of being lost. Inside 25 minutes of pickup we still cancel the ride, but the leg counts as used and does not bank. Zap Co does not put money back on a card: a skipped leg comes back as a banked leg, and a leg is only ever banked once no matter how many times the week is edited. Banked legs roll over one period, and anything that expires comes back as account credit.
What are the cancellation rules?
The exact cancellation or reschedule rule — and any fee — is shown in the app before you confirm, so you always see it first. Commute legs skipped more than 25 minutes before pickup bank instead of being charged; a skip inside 25 minutes uses the leg.
What if no Zapper is assigned?
If no Zapper is assigned 30 minutes before a Commute Pass pickup, we automatically credit that leg back to you and let you know — you never have to ask.
What is the Zap ID for?
Your Zap ID confirms the right pickup and drop-off. Read it to your Zapper when they arrive — it pops up on your active Zap screen and lives on your ID card in the Zap Wallet.
Who is picking me up?
Once a Zapper is assigned you'll see their photo, rating, how long they've been with Zap Co, Zaps completed, and their vehicle and plate on the active Zap card. You can also send them a note with pickup instructions.
Should I tip?
No tipping needed — Zappers are employees paid $20/hour, and there's never surge pricing.
Where does Zap Co operate?
We serve Southern California, including San Diego County.
How does student verification work?
Upload a student ID or transcript and a Zap Co admin reviews it; verification is re-checked every year and you can re-upload anytime without losing your current status. Once verified, the School Commute Pass unlocks at 25% off.
Can I book for my child?
Yes — add a Zap Kid from Account with their home and school addresses. Unverified kids can still book normal Zap Rides; only the School Commute Pass needs student verification.
How do rewards work?
You earn 1% back, redeemable to the cent (10,000 points = $1). Credits, promo codes and passes are applied automatically for the cheapest total.
Can I pay with Klarna or Apple Pay?
Apple Pay and card-on-file come first, you can save multiple payment methods, and Klarna is available on checkouts of $35 or more.
Can I book a round trip or multiple stops?
Yes — a Zap Ride can be booked as a round trip and can include multiple stops; add them on the order page before you confirm.
How much will my trip cost?
The exact price shows on the order page before you confirm, including any pass, credit or promo discount. I won't guess a number — but if a pass would make it cheaper, I'll say so.
How do I book a Zap Ride?
Open the Zap page, tap Zap Ride, enter pickup and drop-off (addresses autocomplete, and Home/Work are one tap), add stops or round trip if you need them, then confirm — the price appears before you do, and your card is authorized as the Zapper is dispatched.
How do I set up my weekly commute?
Save your home and work addresses first, then open Work Commute — the pass builder pops up so you pick your weekdays and pickup times (overnight shifts included), review the weekly summary, and pay up front. The pattern repeats each week and any edit applies from your next pickup.
How do I change or skip a commute day?
From your upcoming Zaps you can skip a leg, and from the schedule screen you can edit days or change times as long as pickup is more than 2 hours away — inside 2 hours the leg is locked and skipping is the only option. Changes made before renewal are what you're billed for.
How do I track my Zap?
The active Zap sheet on the Zap page shows the live map, your Zapper's ETA and every status change — assigned, on the way, arrived, in progress, completed — and you get a push and email at each step. Drag the sheet up for the full view with the map, your Zap ID and messages.
How do I send my Zapper instructions?
Open the active Zap and use the message box, or add a pickup/drop-off note — your Zapper is alerted as soon as they're assigned.
Where do I see my passes and credit?
Swipe from the Zap page to the Zap Wallet — your passes are stacked cards there, with your credit balance and any banked commute legs. Account › Transactions shows the full ledger of holds, captures and credits.
How do I add or change a payment method?
Account › Payment methods — add as many as you like and swipe the carousel to set your default. If a hold failed, updating the card there and rebooking is the fix.
How does Zap Shopping or Zap Food work?
Pick a store or restaurant (nearby ones show first, closed ones are marked), add items with their options or combos — you can stack more than one merchant in the same Zap Bag — and your Zapper shops or picks up, sends receipt and drop-off photos, and delivers.
How do I save or change my addresses?
Account › Addresses to save Home, Work and anywhere else; all address fields autocomplete. During an active Zap you can request an address change and your Zapper approves it.
How do I report a problem?
Use Report a problem on the active Zap or from trip history. Accidents, safety issues and lost items go straight to the Zap team — tell me what happened and I'll flag it too.
How do I delete my account?
Account › Delete account. It cancels any renewing pass, so check the Wallet for unused credit or banked legs first.
